Theme : The influence of global pandemics on the world economy while taking globalisation into account and how much it outlines pre-existing social inequalities.
ECOSOC (The Economic and Social Council) is at the heart of the United Nations system to advance the three dimensions of sustainable development – economic, social and environmental.
The goal of our committee is to take into account the influence pandemics (and even more the more recent one we have all gone through) have on the world economy and the economic relations between countries in order to ensure better stability in future situations. Through the COVID- 19 pandemic, multiple problems that need to be tackled have been brought to light noticeably in regards to the economic interdependence that is present between states, and our aim is to ensure that every state is aware of those. But this also links to problems within each society.
